TEHRAN – Hamed Behdad won the award for best actor for his role in the Iranian drama “Blockage” at the 2nd Malaysia Golden Global Awards on Saturday, the organizers announced.

The movie, which is Mohsen Qarai’s directorial debut, received six nominations, including best film, best director and best screenplay, at the Malaysia Golden Global Awards in early January.

Nader Fallah was nominated for the best supporting actor award, and Giti Qasemi was nominated for the best supporting actress award.

“Blockage” traces the overwhelming chaos that happens to a vicious, despicable man who works as a street vendor control officer.

Earlier in October 2017, “Blockage” was picked as best film in the New Currents category at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
